For tall people.  Most pedal rods have standard 10/32" threads at the pedal end.  These extenders make those pedal rods 2" longer. One extender per package.

Some pedal steel manufacturers use this 2-part assembly to attach the pedal rods, or as part of the knee lever mechanism.
