Our Story
The Steel Guitar Shopper is the online marketplace created to help support the The Steel Guitar Forum community and is generally referred to as The Steel Guitar Forum Store.
Founded and operated by Bobby Lee, the online marketplace was first created as part of his Pedal Steel Pages website which he launched in December 1997. When "The Steel Guitar Forum" replaced the Pedal Steel Pages, the name was formally registered as a sole proprietorship business in January 2000, in Sonoma County, California, and Bob continued to build inventory as members of the Forum made requests for steel guitar strings and music.
Bobby passed away in March 2023 and now the The Steel Guitar Forum and The Steel Guitar Shopper continue operating under the care of his daughters, Shoshanah and Lori respectively. They gladly accepted his request to continue operations with as little disruption as possible and it is an honor to continue his legacy.
How to Reach Us at The Steel Guitar Shopper
Our office is located in downtown Cloverdale, CA, a small (pop. 8,500) rural community in northern California's wine country about 80 miles north of San Francisco.
The office is used for processing online orders and is not open to the general public as a traditional storefront. However, if you are in the area and want to visit our office, please email to make an appointment with Lori. The email address is steelguitarshopper@gmail.com.
