'Thriving On A Riff'

On November 26, 1945, Charlie Parker led a record date for the Savoy label, marketed as the "greatest Jazz session ever." The tracks recorded during this session include "Ko-Ko" (based on the chords of "Cherokee"), "Now's the Time", "Billie's Bounce", and this tune, "Thriving on a Riff".

Jim Loessberg teaches this up-tempo bebop jazz standard as a single-string melody in Bb. The chord changes are based on the tune, 'I've Got Rhythm.' The basic chords and many chord substitution ideas are included.
